In 2017 Rhino Mouthwear along with Rhino Rugby has become the new Official Teamwear and Apparel Partner of the historic Varsity Matches between Oxford and Cambridge universities at Twickenham Stadium.

The Varsity Match is one of the oldest sporting fixtures in the world, dating back to 1872, and Rhino Mouthwear have signed a multi-year-deal to supply for both Oxford University RFC and Cambridge University RUFC men’s and women’s squads.

Initial Design Process

Following the sponsorship announcement we then ran design consultations with both institutions, ensuring final designs contained the correct branding for both the event as well as the historic club logos for each University.

This process involved creating 3D designs, before being reviewed and signed off.

Scanning and impressions

Our dental technicians then spent a day at each University using the latest scanning technology to take immediate 3d impressions of each player in the squad.

Players names and scans were electronically collated to ensure correct spelling of the players name and delivery to the correct end user.

Due to some players unable to make the scanning session we were able to leave some of our bespoke putty impression kits to be completed and mailed into our lab.

Manufacture

The scans were immediately emailed to the lab to be 3D printed, so work could start immediately on the manufacturing process.

Artwork was generated and applied to each item and then packaged and dispatched.
